A relaxing virtual simulation of a forest where players can walk around & create their own melodies.
Our solution
The Creative Process
1. Research
Why a forest?
Studies showed that if we’re in an environment that is stressful or unpleasant, that will reflect in our emotions. Simply viewing nature can brighten our mood & promote physical well being. It allows us to heal and soothe ourselves.
2. Mood board
I created a mood board to explain to my teammates what my vision was and get feedback. Our main inspirations were games such as Sky, The Forest, and Breath of the Wild.
3. User Flow
We created a user flow to understand the basic functions we will need in our first prototype.
4. Sound Design
I reached out to blu soju, a group of talented student music producers at Berklee College of Music. We were happy to find that they were just as excited about this collaboration as we were!
Here are the 6 audio pieces that they’ve created to correspond with each collectable item:
All sounds combined
5. Creating Ui
I drew assets for my teammates to add into the unity file.
6. Creating our 1st prototype
My teammates Audrey, Lava, and Deanna created our 1st prototype of the game on Unity.
Player collecting all items
separate pocket → sounds that the user doesn’t want to hear at the moment, but would like to keep in case they do want to use it later. It will be a hassle to go find it again in the forest
multiplayer function
different seasons and soundtracks
save melody function
